Sigmoid volvulus
Scout film shows a dilated loop of bowel in the left lower quadrant with a "coffee bean" appearance

suggesting a sigmoid volvulus.
CT shows dilated sigmoid colon

, with proximal

and distal

transition points in close proximity, with swirling of mesenteric vessels

as you scroll through the coronal images. Findings are consistent with sigmoid volvulus.
