Junior call case 10

Buckle fracture distal radius.

Pediatric bones are more pliable than adult bones. Thus, fractures are often incomplete and do not traverse the entire bone.

These fractures occur on a spectrum, depending on the degree of traumatic force, including bowing deformities, buckle, greenstick, and stress fractures.

• Buckle/Torus fracture: occurs along the COMPRESSIVE side of the bone.

• Greenstick fracture: occurs along the TENSILE side of the bone
